Keep Calm and Love Animals

Kia Ora Mini farm is a family run open farm in Gorey, Co. Wexford which opened for business in 1991.

The name Kia Ora came from a visit to family and friends many years ago in New Zealand by Paddy & Maura. Everywhere they looked were the words “Kia Ora”. “Kia Ora” is an expression in the Māori language, and simply means “hello” or “welcome”. Literally translated it has a meaning of “be well or healthy”.

Maura & Paddy felt very welcome on their visit and the warmth and friendliness of the people of New Zealand and the green landscape meant it felt like it was a home away from home. When it came to choosing a name Kia Ora Mini Farm felt right and we hope that you feel very welcome on your visit.

In the last number of years, the day-to-day running of the farm has been taken over by Padraig O’Donohoe, or Podge as he is affectionately known to all, with the help of his wife Evelyn who deals with the admin, accounts and marketing.

What People Are Saying About Us!

Will definitely return again!!

As the title says, simply fantastic. I visited with my autistic brother who is 29 and my 3 children aged 13,8 and 5. To say that everyone of them left with a huge smile on their faces is an understatement. From the second you walk through the door you are made to feel welcome, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The overall layout is very good and there is so much to do, whether it’s feeding the animals, petting rabbits, go karts, crazy football and not to forget the fire engine that takes you round the farm. The children can’t stop speaking about their visit and can’t wait to tell their friends about it at school tomorrow. Will definitely return again!!

This trip was brilliant

We took a 53 seater bus full of kids to Kia Ora farm last summer for a summer project. This trip was brilliant from the moment we arrived till we left. The venue felt so safe been fully enclosed .the shop was great for goodies and a cuppa tea .The kids were kept going all day with loads to do from the farm part to the kart rides to the football pitch to the to the rides on the engine!! Fab place and hopefully our project will be back down again this year..

Big thumbs up from all here.

Were in Courtown on holidays with family, we were up from Kerry. Brilliant day at Kia Ora , children really loved the place. Mini diggers went down a treat with young ones. Kia Ora is certainly the best pet farm we have visited, so much to do and resonably priced for the full day. Anyone in the area should check it out, nicely placed between Gorey and Courtown, just off the motorway. Big thumbs up from all here.”
